Everything Closets was built on a simple idea.
What started as a small family operation has grown into a trusted name across Knoxville, the Tri-Cities, and surrounding areas. But the foundation has never changed. Quality craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
Our Story
Our story begins with Larry and Anita Michels and their four children: Tara, Francesca, Joseph, and Jeffrey.
Larry spent years building high-end custom cabinetry before the opportunity came to start a shop of his own. With just a saw, a line boring machine, and the help of his family, they began building something from the ground up.
From the beginning, there was a focus on doing things better. Investing in tools, improving precision, and staying ahead of where the industry was going. That led to the early adoption of CNC technology, allowing for more accurate and consistent results across every project.
As the demand for custom storage grew, it became clear that the same level of craftsmanship used in cabinetry could bring something different to the closet industry.
In 1996, A Place for Everything Closets was born.
Built to Grow, Designed to Last
The shop has expanded to include advanced manufacturing equipment and design systems, allowing for more efficient production without sacrificing quality. Every project is still carefully reviewed to ensure it meets the standards the business was built on.
What started as a small family effort has grown into a full team that still operates with that same mindset. A close-knit group that takes pride in the work and treats every project with care.
Serving East Tennessee and Beyond
With continued growth came expansion.
Jeffrey helped bring Everything Closets into the Knoxville market, allowing the company to serve more homeowners across East Tennessee. Today, the team works throughout Knoxville, Kingsport, the Tri-Cities, and surrounding areas, with projects extending into parts of Virginia and North Carolina.
